CJU will be held Monday, September 12 - Thursday, September 15, 2022. 

CJU will be held at the Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort in Santa Barbara, CA 

Currently, we are moving forward with CJU22 as planned. Were keeping a close eye on the situation and will immediately communicate if any developments or changes arise. Please review our Health and Safety webpage for more details.  

Early bird registration opens on April 19th at 11:00 AM PDT and will continue through May 13th at the rate of $1,295 ($200 off). Regular registration will open on May 14th at the rate of $1,495. 

We’ll open a waitlist if the event sells out. 

Yes! Group discounts apply to the registration fee when five or more attendees register at the same time. Each attendee’s invitation email is required for registration. 

Nope! You’ll register using the email associated with your CJ account. It's the same email where you'll receive all CJU22 emails, including the early bird registration announcement starting on April 19. 

CJU is a by-invitation event, and exclusively for active clients of CJ.  Access to the event is tied to your CJ account email. If you’re a CJ client and you did not receive an email inviting you to register or if you’ve opted out of receiving CJ event emails, please take one of the following actions:  


Your CJU22 registration includes admission to all keynote and breakout sessions, Discovery Lab trainings, and the Expo. It also includes all general receptions and evening entertainment.

Conference meals included are as follows: 

  • Tuesday: Breakfast, lunch, and heavy appetizers at The Beach Party in the evening 
  • Wednesday: Breakfast, lunch, appetizers at the Cocktail Hour & 1/2, dinner at the CJU Excellence Awards, and one meal at the Late Night Food Court 
  • Thursday: Breakfast


We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Advertisers may pay with their CJ Account Number (CID). 

Cancellations may be made prior to or on August 19, 2022 without penalty. After August 19, cancellations will receive a 50% refund of the registration fee. No refunds will be issued after September 8, 2022.

Attendee substitutions from the same company may be made at any time at no charge but must be made in writing to Substitution requests for individuals from another company will not be granted. 

Substitution requests should be sent to the CJU Registration Team at Please include the following information: 

  • Full names of both the original registrant and substitute registrant 
  • Invitation email and title of the substitute registrant 

Host hotel reservations made through CJU22 registration can be transferred to the new registrant. If hotel reservations were made directly through an alternate hotel, the registrant must contact the hotel directly. 

The Networking Pass includes five extra beverage tickets for $70.00. Beverage tickets can be shared with colleagues and partners at the After Party event. The Networking Pass can be purchased when you register. 

Room reservations for Hilton Santa Barbara will open on May 3, 2022 at 11am PDT. The link to reserve a room will be included in an email on May 3rd or you can visit the Travel & Lodging page to book. Clients will need to use their invitation email to register for a room at the Hilton Santa Barbara. The Hilton Santa Barbara will not be taking reservations directly. 

Please note: The Hilton Santa Barbara room policy requires that if a client books a room at the Hilton Santa Barbara, they must register for CJU22 no later than July 15th. If they have not registered by July 15th, we will cancel their room reservation so someone who is registered for the event can get a room onsite. We will send an email reminder to anyone who has not registered for CJU two weeks before the July 15th cut-off to remind them to take action in order to keep their room at the Hilton Santa Barbara.




Once rooms at the Hilton Santa Barbara are sold out, attendees attempting to reserve a room will be given the option to add their name to a waitlist. 

We cannot guarantee Hilton Santa Barbara rooms on the waitlist will be fulfilled. We recommend making hotel accommodations at one of the alternate hotels suggested on the Travel & Lodging page. 

If rooms become available, clients on the waitlist will be contacted in late August. 

Mountain and resort view rooms are $336/night including all taxes, fees, in-room Wi-Fi, and parking. 

Ocean view rooms are $385/night including all taxes, fees, in-room Wi-Fi, and parking.  


One person can reserve up to four rooms at the Hilton Santa Barbara, as long as they pay for all the rooms with one payment method. The person who makes the reservation must provide the names of all the occupants. If those names are not yet determined, they can be added later. If each person pays with their own credit card, they must book their own room and can book just the one room. 

Reserving a room at Hilton Santa Barbara requires a three-night minimum stay. 

A deposit is not required to reserve a room at the Hilton Santa Barbara. At the time the reservation is made, you’ll need to provide your method of payment, credit card, or CID (advertisers only). The total charges for your room fees including taxes will be charged automatically on August 15, 2022. 

You will need to provide a credit card upon check-in at the Hilton Santa Barbara for incidentals. 

Room cancellations at the Hilton Santa Barbara may be made through August 19, 2022 without penalty. To cancel a room, please email 

Starting August 20th, refunds will not be issued unless we can find another attendee to take your room reservation. 

If you include your Hilton Honors member number when booking your room at the Hilton Santa Barbara, you will receive room night credit towards elite status with Hilton Honors, however, you will not receive points resulting from the cost of your room. Incidental charges (those charged to a member's room) paid for directly by the member at check-out are eligible for points credit. 

Hilton Honors Terms

There are several alternate hotels that are offering a preferred rate. All other rates are based on the dates of CJU. 

Sponsorships will be available starting April 19, 2022. Clients can review sponsorships within the registration interface or view our online Sponsorship Prospectus on the Sponsorships page. Advertisers may charge sponsorships to their CID. If you have questions, please contact 

Event check-in opens Monday, September 12 from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM in the Hilton Lobby. It re-opens on Tuesday, September 13 from 7:00 AM – 9:15 AM and 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM in the Santa Barbara Foyer.  

Starting on Wednesday, September 14th, event check-in will be available at the Information Desk located in the Santa Barbara Foyer.  

CJU22 passes will not be mailed. 

CJ Universe is the CJU event app. Use the app on your desktop or mobile device to build your agenda, schedule 1:1 meetings and locations with other attendees, start discussions, ask questions, and more.  

Starting in late June, registrants will automatically receive an invitation to join CJ Universe after they receive their registration confirmation. Those that registered prior to June will automatically receive their invitation to join CJ Universe on June 21st. 

Yes! Join CJ Universe and you can set up your entire schedule before you arrive on-site, including private meetings, keynote, sessions, and all the networking events. 

To schedule sessions and Discovery Lab trainings, you’ll need to log into CJ Universe. Starting in late June, an invitation to CJ Universe will be sent once you have registered to attend CJU22. 

Sessions will be announced in mid-to-late July and Discovery Lab trainings will be announced in early August. 

Our breakout session schedule can change all the way up to the conference. We aim to make our final changes a couple of weeks before the conference. However, unforeseen circumstances may necessitate a last-minute time change or cancellation. 

The CJ Excellence Awards criteria, guidelines, and timing to submit will be announced around June 1, 2022. 

September in Santa Barbara is typically sunny with an average of 75 degrees during the daytime and 65 degrees at night. 

Business casual dress during the day, dress-to-impress for the Wednesday night events, and a sweater or light jacket for the evenings and hotel meeting rooms. 

Due to capacity issues at evening events, we cannot extend attendance to any guests of attendees. 

Yes. You are required to accept CJ’s Event Terms if you register and attend CJU. 

We recycle event signage and offer a repository to collect and recycle name badges on the last day of CJU. We also purchase carbon offsets to balance the carbon footprint of CJU.
