Commission Junction Performance Marketing Solutions Grow eBay User Base

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – September 18, 2003 – Commission Junction (www.cj.com), a leader in online performance-based marketing solutions, announced today that eBay, the world's online marketplace, is extending its agreement for the use of Commission Junction's performance marketing products and services. eBay will use the Commission Junction CJ Vantage™ solution, which provides sophisticated functionality for the management of eBay's performance-based affiliate program, to drive new user acquisition. The agreement is an extension of a successful two-year relationship between eBay and Commission Junction, during which eBay has seen its affiliate program grow into one of the industry's largest.

Under the agreement, eBay will leverage Commission Junction's performance marketing expertise, which has proven its value in quickly and consistently growing eBay's program, acquiring significant numbers of new active users to the eBay community, and driving increased numbers of bids and purchases. Commission Junction's technology and service has allowed eBay to create a process of tracking, reporting and payment that outperforms other industry solutions. In addition, Commission Junction's publisher network has given eBay unparalleled advertising reach. "We are very pleased to extend our agreements with Commission Junction for performance-based marketing endeavors," said Vaughan Smith, eBay's senior director of Internet marketing. "The Commission Junction Open Marketplace and CJ Vantage provides us with the flexibility and functionality to increase the size and the success of the eBay community."

The eBay performance-based affiliate program with Commission Junction currently pays affiliates up to $13 for each new active registered user an affiliate drives to eBay. In addition, the program pays up to 9 cents each time a registered eBay user visits the eBay site through an affiliate's link and places a bid on or purchases an item on eBay.
