Commission Junction Solidifies Management Team
Business Continues to Prosper Under Strong Leadership
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Nov. 13, 2002 – Commission Junction (www.cj.com), a leader in pay-for-performance marketing, today announced the promotion of key executive staff and the hire of a chief financial officer. The Commission Junction board of directors has named Jeff Pullen, who has been serving as president, to the additional post of chief executive officer. Pullen has added Jim Buckley, formerly of CyberSource, to the executive team as senior vice president and chief financial officer. Pullen has also named Per Pettersen senior vice president to complement his title of chief technology officer and Elizabeth Cholawsky senior vice president of marketing and product development.
"The board has witnessed tremendous progress this year under Jeff's leadership as he has strengthened the executive team and positioned the company for continued growth by introducing new products and services and attracting new brand name clients," said Lex Sisney, chairman of the board and company co-founder. "This vote of appreciation and confidence sends a clear message to our clients, investors, and employees that we look forward to Commission Junction continuing to prosper under his guidance."
The newest member to the executive team is Buckley, who will oversee all of the financial and administrative functions. Prior to joining Commission Junction, Buckley was chief financial officer at CyberSource Corporation, a provider of risk management and electronic payment solutions for enterprise businesses. "In addition to his solid finance and accounting background, Jim also brings the company significant experience in business development and mergers and acquisitions," said Pullen. "Jim will be a great asset as we develop new partnerships to grow the business."
Elizabeth Cholawsky is responsible for the strategic direction of product offerings and for leading Commission Junction's marketing and branding initiatives. Per Pettersen, who co-founded the company with Sisney four years ago, is responsible for the technical development, quality, and operational support of client products and internal operational systems. "Per and Elizabeth have done a terrific job of identifying and delivering the premier technical solution to our marketplace, as evidenced by the impressive growth in our client base," said Pullen. "Our customers are impressed and very satisfied with the unique solution we offer."
"The board is highly confident that the current management team will continue to drive Commission Junction's strong financial performance," said Brian Steel, managing director of Idealab and board member of Commission Junction. "In addition to continued profitable growth, we have been extremely pleased by our increasing market share, the addition of name brand clients, and national recognition from Deloitte & Touche's Rising Star Award - citing Commission Junction as one of the top ten fastest growing technology companies in the nation."
